Frequently asked questions
How does LockFeed work?
Allow Screen Time access, choose the apps you want to protect, and select a quiz. Complete the quiz for the app you want to open to unlock it temporarily. Practice mode does not unlock apps.
Do I choose a different quiz for every app?
No. One selected quiz applies across all your protected apps. You can change that quiz in LockFeed.
How does the unlock timer work?
Choose your reward in Settings under Unlock Time: 5 minutes, 15 minutes, For Today, or a custom duration. Timed rewards count elapsed time even when you leave the unlocked app. For Today ends at local midnight. When the reward ends, the app’s restriction returns.
What if my apps aren’t locking as expected?
Check that LockFeed still has Screen Time permission, confirm your selected apps, and check that locks are enabled in LockFeed. If the issue continues, email us with your iPhone model, iOS version, and a description of what happened.
Is LockFeed free?
Current LockFeed 1.3 includes five successful real app unlocks, followed by a US$4.99 one-time lifetime purchase for further unlocks. Standalone quiz practice requires lifetime purchase from the start; the onboarding demonstration remains free. There is no subscription. Apple shows the localized price before purchase. This access policy stays the same in upcoming 1.4, which adds optional analytics and introductory lifetime offers.
What counts toward the five unlocks?
Only a successful unlock of a protected app counts. Wrong answers, retries, onboarding demonstrations and practice do not count. Existing successful-unlock history carries forward, and the fifth earned unlock lasts for the full time you selected. Settings and the ability to turn locks off remain available without paying.
How do I restore a purchase?
Use Restore Purchases on the lifetime-access screen with the Apple Account used to purchase. Apple handles payments and refund requests. If a price cannot be loaded, use Retry or contact support@lockfeed.app.
Which quizzes can I use?
The full library includes guitar fretboard notes, SAT, ACT, MCAT, LSAT, US bar practice, UK driving, UK citizenship, US citizenship in multiple-choice and typed formats, world flags, vocabulary, chess, and art history. Source information and applicable credits are available in the app. Practice material is not a guarantee of exam results.
I installed LockQuiz. Is this the right support page?
Yes. LockQuiz is now LockFeed, with the full quiz library, onboarding and lifetime access in current version 1.3. Optional analytics and price offers are planned for 1.4. If your app still shows the SAT-only screen, use the LockQuiz 1.0 instructions. There is no need to create an account.
What is the gift offer planned for 1.4?
New eligible installations that allow analytics may receive a randomly assigned, saved lifetime offer: US$0.99, $2.99, $4.99, $9.99 or $19.99. The gift reveals the price before any purchase. The comparison is with an available US$30.00 standard lifetime option, not a previous price you paid. Existing installations keep their US$4.99 offer, and existing lifetime purchases still restore. Localized prices appear before checkout. See the Terms of Service.
Will I have to allow analytics in 1.4?
No. Both new and existing users will be offered a choice; analytics is off until you agree. You can decline or turn it off later in Settings without losing purchased access. PostHog analytics covers app-owned practice, browsing, sessions and purchases, not Screen Time selections, usage, app-unlock activity or related quiz results. See the Privacy Policy. For access or deletion requests, email support@lockfeed.app.
